Weak wifi signal=no updates for a while

I really, really was going to get this blog updated with our activities for the past couple of months, but on Saturday (1/28/12) we had to leave the Dunedin Municipal Marina because a commercial boat was coming into the spot we've enjoyed for the last 7 1/2 weeks.  I'm very sad about that because I absolutely loved the location and we had a strong wifi signal there.
We're still in Dunedin, but now we're a couple of miles north at Marker 1 Marina.  The marina is nice but we're at an outside tie-along slip and the wifi signal is extremely weak.  We've been told that the water isn't deep enough for Paradise in the regular slips closer to the marina office where the wifi signal would presumably be stronger.
On the plus side, the marina has a swimming pool (don't know yet if it's heated) and is located right on the Dunedin Causeway with a great walking path that leads out to Honeymoon Island State Park.  Also, the marina provides free cable TV so now I can watch Food Network again!
But until I figure out a work-around for the wifi I won't be doing any updates to this blog--everything is just too painfully slow!

  1. Have you looked into a mifi, I have one through Verizon. You can have as many as 4-5 computers use it.

  2. Joe and Mary Jo I finally found the blog address that you gave me in Stillwater. It will take me quite a while to catch up on all your adventures. What a life you are having. I wonder if I can do it on the motorcycle? Not much happens on Benson Blvd. People move out and people move in. Gilbert court is pretty much the same. Bethany is getting married in November so we will be down to just the two of us. I can't wait to look at all your photos and read your adventures. I hope you get a better signal one of these days. Take care and happy sailing. Love to you both. Barb

  3. Ahoy Paradise. Someone sent us your blog and I enjoyed reading your December 1, 2011 entry. I recall talking with you all on the radio as we set-out from Apalachicola that same grey morning. Sounds like we all had a similar experience on the water. Not much fun! We enjoyed your write-up. Here's a link to our blog post about the crossing, so we can compare notes: http://www.samwayadventure.com/floridas-big-bend-the-gulf-of-mexico/

Best wishes for continued safe cruising and exploring. The Muddy Waters crew. www.samwayadventure.com
