Thursday October 13, 2011

We started out at 7:20 this morning; 60 degrees and skies will still heavily overcast.  We made L&D 7 at La Crescent, MN at 8:20 and La Crosse at 9:00.

La Crosse has some interesting boat houses (as opposed to house boats) on the waterfront.

Here's one of the boats that the Army Corp of Engineers uses for dredging the channel.

In this photo, Joe is calling the lock to see when we can get a southbound lock.

This is the bridge over the river when approaching Prairie du Chien, WI

Here's an Iowa casino boat south of Prairie du Chien.

We did get blue skies and sunshine around 11 am.  So that called for driving from the fly bridge...and guess who made it up to the flybridge!!!

That's all for tonight, folks.  Joe is shutting down the generator so I'll lose power to my PC.  More adventures tomorrow.

  1. I have always loved the boat houses in La Crosse. They are actually quite common in that area. Glad to see you on the fly bridge, it is amazing up there.
